Miller is the world's largest manufacturer of arc welding products for manufacturing, fabrication, construction, education, agriculture, and more. But they’re more than just welding products. Miller wants to help build people too, with a quest to build the future of welding.
Educating future welders begins with hands-on training tools along with educators and trainers who are committed to the success of the welding industry. Without being exposed to welding, young students may never know it could be a field of interest and a successful and enjoyable career option. Early exposure is critical, which is why Miller offers the following innovative and engaging welding training solutions.
MobileArc AR Welding System
The MobileArc welding simulation tool offers a hands-on augmented reality experience so students can get a feel for welding, improve their skills, and make informed career decisions. Designed with ease of use and portability in mind, MobileArc allows students to learn independently, accelerating the overall learning process.
Using the included mobile device, students can practice MIG welding T-joints, butt joints, and lap joints in an augmented reality environment. The system is easy to set up and use, offers real-time feedback, and minimizes material cost for your department.
This hand-held system can be used with a helmet that holds the mobile device up to the user's eyes, or with a gun mount to hold the mobile device closer to the workpiece. The device's display generates a 3D image of the workpiece and gun with graphical aids to guide students towards proper welds.
AugmentedArc AR Welding System
Miller also offers a larger, desktop AR welding unit. For beginner to advanced-level welding students, the AugmentedArc system simulates multiple welding processes, blending real-world and computer-generated images into a unique, augmented reality environment. Just like MobileArc, the AugmentedArc system provides real-time feedback to help correct errors on users' technique, reducing overall training time, and minimizing material cost.
Teacher software offers a user-friendly and flexible LMS to manage courses, content, and student progress.
- Create quizzes, theories, and welding simulation exercises with your own parameters, technique, and scoring criteria, or use pre-developed exercises.
- Manage student progress by viewing real-time results of welding simulations, analyze statistics and download reports, and review the entire history and results of student activities.
In addition to MIG welding T-joints, butt joints, and lap joints, students have the opportunity to learn flux core, stick, and TIG welding on pipe-to-plate, butt pipe, V-groove with/without backing, and bead-on-plate.
